ALTONA PRIMARY SCHOOL CONCERT 2009
WEDNESDAY 25TH NOVEMBER
(CLICK HERE FOR COSTUME INFORMATION FOR EACH ACT/GRADE)
Information regarding concert Day procedures are as follows:
The children will be travelling down to the Williamstown Hall by shuttle bus with the first groups leaving school at 9.am.
We will be rehearsing and walking through the items until 11.30.
Everyone will have a rest and lunch
The Matinee performance will commence at 12.30 and finish at 2.30
Children will then go home either by bus or if they have written permission with relatives or friends in the audience.
They will then need to get to the Williamstown Town Hall by 6.30 for the night time performance which will commence at 7.00pm.
They will need to be collected at 9.00pm at the conclusion of the night time performance.
If you have a problem with transporting your child to and from the night time performance, we need to know so we can make some alternative arrangements.
The reason we need to have 2 performances is because there is only 800 capasity seating which would only give families 2 tickets each. To satisfy our large community we needed to put on 2 shows to allow families up to 5 tickets.
All children must attend both the Matinee and the Night performance unless they are ill or away or there is a legitimate reason.
Most of the items have children dancing with a partner and so it is very stressful if that partner is not there on the night or day of the concert.
I'm sure you will appreciate the enormity of such an event, organizing 500 children on and off stage, keeping an audience of 800 people entertained.
I am looking forward to what should be a wonderful experience for everyone. The children are all getting very excited.
Thank you for your support and co-operation.
Stay tuned for permission notes closer to the date.
