Welcome to the website of Altona Primary School. It is our privilege to lead a school with such a rich history and strong reputation. We are focused on ensuring our students are educated in a nurturing environment that provides them with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills and empowers them to succeed in their future endeavours.
Students at Altona Primary School embody our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience while exhibiting Aspiration, Gratitude and Collaboration. They are provided with opportunities that extend beyond their classroom walls and are enabled to participate in a variety of programs and activities that support their academic, social and emotional growth and build creativity and problem-solving skills.
Our dedicated staff deliver an evidence based, high-quality teaching and learning program underpinned by the Victorian Curriculum. They are supported and encouraged to continually develop their expertise and knowledge to ensure teaching and learning is student centred, relevant and rigorous. Staff are committed to improvement and ensuring student learning growth is a continual focus.
With an active and connected community, we work in partnership with our School Council and Friends and Families Committee to encourage and provide opportunities for involvement and participation in all facets of school life.
We are proud to be the Principals of Altona Primary School and believe the connection between home and school is vital to our students’ success. We warmly welcome all new and prospective families to our school.
