In 2022, students at Altona Primary School engage in the following specialist subjects:
Students attend Music, Visual Arts and Physical Education for one timetabled session per week. These lessons are delivered by highly skilled teachers in well-resourced classroom spaces.
Auslan (sign language) is delivered as a stand-alone subject on a rotating timetable, however all staff are enabled to authentically engage students with this as an additional language across all subject areas.
STEM and Digital Technology is taught through classroom experiences connected to our inquiry topics and the wider curriculum.
Students at Altona Primary School experience lessons in computer and information technologies along with coding and robotics.
Along with the specialist subjects, students attend a library session once a week and also engage in a variety of sustainability experiences in our school grounds connected to inquiry topics.
