School Concert 2018 and Harlem Shake
This year we have our Triennial School Concert taking place mid term 3 on Friday August 24th. Your children will be working hard towards this great performance milestone. More information will be available as we get closer to the date.
We will be filming a series of short movies and skits to be shown during the concert. The first of which was done on Monday February 26th. We filmed a short skit of the 'Harlem Shake', a viral dance (see 'Harlem Shake Original Army Edition' on YouTube for reference). Students came to school in their normal school uniform with a small costume they put on for the filming (e.g. a hat, wig or mask). This video will not be uploaded to the internet and will only be used for the school concert.
We look forward to sharing all your children's hard work with you on the night of the concert.
Many thanks,
Tim Rouse and Jess O'Sullivan
Altona Primary School Music Team

Lost Property
Dear Families,
This is a note regarding your child’s lost property. Each week any named items will be returned to your child from lost property. It is important to clearly label all items of clothing and personal belongings such as drink bottles and lunchboxes.
Any item that is not named will be placed in a tub outside the grade of Miss Nikki and Mrs Mantello next to the netball court after school on a Thursday and Friday at 3:20-3:40pm. During the school day the basket will be placed back inside (near these classrooms) and lost property is only to be collected from this area before and after school with adult supervision. Children are asked not to go through it during the day.

APS is a SunSmart School
Did you know that Altona Primary is a SunSmart School? At Altona Primary School we create an environment that promotes the Sunsmart principles by regularly reinforcing and modelling Sunsmart behaviours. Please click here for more information.

Signing in when visiting APS
When visiting Altona Primary School to help in the classroom, please be sure to sign in at the office on arrival and when leaving. This is in case of an emergency at school, as we then know to look for you and ensure your safety while on the premises.
Just a reminder: when collecting your child, even if you have entered it on compass, parents still needs to come to the office and have the child sent to the office.

Medical Conditions
In order for our school to responsibly care for your child’s medical needs whilst at school it is imperative that all medical information is on our school records and up to date. We ask that any changes to medical conditions be communicated to the office.
